Graphing Equations

Graphing Equations:

Example issues for graphing equations help – linear equation:

Graph the linear equation y = 3x – 6
Solution:

To graph the linear equation they must find the x and y intercept of the linear equation. To find the x and y intercept they must plug the 0 for y and x.

From the above x intercept mean y = 0

So 0 = 3x – 6

3x = 6 and x = 2

So the x intercept point is (2, 0)

Now they must find the y – intercept so plug x = 0

y = 3 (0) – 6

y = -6
